Matai

I’ve had several pairs of these shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn.

I recently had to switch up my shoes because of an injury and these are so lightweight but well made and sturdy. They are feminine and cute. I normally don't like Mary Janes because they either look dated or boxy but these are so fashionable. I have gotten so many compliments on them!

Have 3 pairs of Matai, the oldest (about 15 years old) and my favorite, is the Black Madras/Black suede--amazingly, it still looks quite good and I still get compliments on this pair. Super comfortable, bliss-like fit. Also have a navy teeny-beaded-type, and a brown plain leather one.
One of the best things, is that although I usually hate the "Mary Jane" style (which looks childish to me), THIS shoe has the center strap AND the toe box cut on a DIAGONAL, which is very slimming. A regular Mary Jane has the center strap and toe box opening going straight across the center of your foot--shortening it and making it look stubby. The diagonal slant--and the cool "swirl" motif" of the Matai was an inspired design, and transforms it into a very sleek and elegant look.
PLEASE make the Matai in a Navy Blue that is the same fabric as the "shiny Madras and dark suede" combination as your current Black one. It would be a knockout!!!

I first bought these for restaurant work, on my feet all day. I still love them. It seems they need a time to break in, and so they are still snug, but I’m sure eventually they will fit like a glove.

I have owned numerous Naot shoes and sandals. I enjoy all of them but this particular shoe is by far my favorite. The metatarsal support is fabulous and it feels like a sneaker as well and has way more style. Would love to have a pair in blue but so far I don’t see the color available. Thanks Naot for producing outstanding footwear. I have been wearing Naot footwear for 25 years.
